His Excellency Major General Ahmed Saif Bin Zaitoon Al Muhairi, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, visited the Abu Dhabi Hazardous Materials Management Centre, where he reviewed its operational system and the significant efforts undertaken to efficiently manage hazardous materials, ensuring the highest standards of community and environmental safety.
He was received by His Excellency Khalfan Abdulla Almansoori, Acting Director General of the Abu Dhabi Hazardous Materials Management Centre, along with several specialized staff members. During the field tour, His Excellency was briefed on the Centre’s key responsibilities in monitoring the lifecycle of hazardous materials at all stages, from import and export, through transportation and storage, to final treatment.
His Excellency reviewed the Centre’s role in fostering a safe investment environment in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi by developing advanced infrastructure, implementing clear legislation, and enforcing precise safety standards, these measures contribute to attracting high-quality investments in the industry, energy, and technology sectors, while also strengthening community trust in a safe and sustainable regulatory system.
His Excellency commended the Centre’s efforts and its pioneering role in protecting the environment and the community from the risks posed by hazardous materials, and making Abu Dhabi a safe and sustainable environment that reflects the vision of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. He expressed his deep appreciation for the Centre’s commitment to integrating efforts with local and federal authorities and fostering partnerships with research and scientific institutions, emphasizing that this approach enhances the Emirate’s preparedness for risk prevention and embodies the security and safety values upheld by the United Arab Emirates.
At the conclusion of his visit, the Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police expressed his appreciation for the high level professionalism demonstrated by the Centre’s specialized staff, highlighting that the strategic roles carried out by the Centre directly contribute to enhancing the security and safety of the Emirate and preserving its resources, in line with the national agenda and Abu Dhabi Vision 2030.
