The Abu Dhabi Hazardous Materials Management Centre was established under Law No. (20) of 2023, issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, in his capacity as the Ruler of Abu Dhabi. The Centre is responsible for regulating and developing the emirate’s hazardous materials management system.
The Centre aims to enhance security and safety by adopting advanced technologies and innovative solutions to ensure the efficient and safe management of hazardous materials at every stage, from import and storage to transportation, usage, and final disposal in a safe and sustainable manner. Additionally, it works to improve regulatory efficiency by developing modern monitoring systems that leverage smart technologies.
The Centre also seeks to establish strategic partnerships with leading international and local institutions to foster knowledge exchange and implement global best practices in hazardous materials management. It aspires to position Abu Dhabi as a global hub for sustainability and innovation, supporting the emirate’s vision of economic and social development while preserving the environment.
